At Theriot Family Dental Care, you can expect to be treated like family, in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Before your first visit, we invite you to fill out new patient forms online. This will save you time during your visit and will help us be better prepared for you. If you have any questions, just call—we’d be happy to help any way we can.
Once the paperwork is done, you’ll be seen quickly. You’ll first be seen by a dental hygienist who will take any needed x-rays.
A dental hygienist will escort you to a private treatment room. There, she will take any needed digital x-rays before examining your gums and cleaning your teeth. When she is done, Dr. Theriot or Dr. Redhead will come in to look over your gums, teeth, and x-ray images. If it appears that further treatment is needed, they will offer their recommendations, ultimately leaving the decision up to you. At our practice, you will never be pressured to accept any treatment.
In all, this initial visit typically takes an hour and a half for an adult, and for a child, an hour. This allows ample time for us to answer any questions you may have.
Comforting, Calming Amenities
Many people find visiting the dental office to be a stressful experience. At Theriot Family Dental Care, we understand this, and make it our goal to help you relax.
Because your comfort is our priority, we invite you to make yourself at home. You can bring your own headphones and listen to music, while reclining in our dental chair. There’s a flat-screen TV that you can watch, and if you desire a blanket, all you have to do is ask.
These amenities are available during any appointment, whether it’s a first-time exam or an advanced procedure. For patients with a higher level of anxiety, we offer sedation at both of our locations in Baton Rouge. You can read more about this on our sedation dentistry page.
